APG PHYSICAL SECURITY PENETRATION TESTING
AMERICAN PROTECTION GROUP EXPERTS IN SECURITY PENETRATION TESTING (SPT).
Many organizations spend large amounts of money verifying that their external network presence is secure. They will spend millions of dollars on the best firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and software that scans incoming messages for viruses. These controls are important, but if an attacker can walk into the building and steal the organization’s sensitive data from an unlocked terminal, these controls are essentially ineffective.
American Protection Group (APG) approach to physical security testing follows industry accepted methodologies including OSSTMM and ASIS standards to obtain physical access to client facilities. APG begins any Physical Attack & Penetration assessment by conducting an extensive search of open source intelligence on the target organization. This research locates information in public databases, job openings, social networks, and photo galleries. Information gathered will be used to replicate employee badges, develop believable premises, and formulate approach strategies. Members of the attack team will then conduct extensive reviews of the sites using online and open source mapping software including, but not limited to, Google Earth, StreetView, and Wigle.net. Information gathered from this phase is used to determine potential ingress routes onto facility grounds and into the target locations.
Once in the vicinity of the target locations, APG conducts additional, onsite intelligence gathering. This includes covertly observing the target location for security guard rotation, badge usage, entrances and exits, locks, surveillance and CCTV systems, security lighting, and employee behavior. APG may also conduct wireless frequency scanning to determine if security guards or other company personnel are making use of radio communications. These communications can be intercepted to provide intelligence prior to the attack.
APG will develop several potential approaches which can include a variety of techniques from the non-destructive (tailgating entrances or social engineering employees) to the semi-kinetic (lock picking and barrier bypass) depending on the scope of individual engagements. Once access has been achieved, APG will pillage, penetrating further into the facility and documenting the entire process with photographs and video.
